A crewneck has nowhere to hide. There is no hood to add bulk and no zip to break up the front, so the fabric weight, the rib and the shoulder line are the whole product. Get the rib wrong and the neck relaxes after four washes. Get the weight wrong and the garment reads as promotional rather than retail.

French terry or fleece, 280 to 400 GSM
The two constructions behave differently, so pick by how you want the garment to feel and drape.
French terry, 280–340 GSM
Looped on the inside, smooth on the face. It is drier against the skin, drapes cleanly and holds a print sharply, which makes it the better choice for year-round ranges and warmer markets. It also takes garment dye and wash finishes well.
Brushed fleece, 320–400 GSM
The loops are brushed out into a soft pile, so the garment traps more air and reads heavier on the hanger. Best for winter drops and for brands whose whole pitch is weight and comfort. Expect a slightly softer surface for fine print detail.

Where a crewneck is won or lost
Ribbing
Neck, cuff and hem rib knitted to match the body fabric in colour and blend, with enough elastane to recover. We set rib depth to your spec rather than defaulting to whatever is on the machine.
Neck construction
Shoulder-to-shoulder taping across the back neck so the seam does not stretch out, and a clean coverstitch or flatlock finish where the rib meets the body.
Shoulder line
Set-in, dropped or raglan, graded across your full size run. The shoulder point is what decides whether the garment reads classic or oversized.
Side panels
Side-seamed for a controlled fit, or tubular where the look calls for it. Optional V insert at the front neck for a heritage detail.
Shrinkage control
Fabric is relaxed and compacted before cutting, and we wash-test the sample so your graded measurements survive the customer's laundry.
Branded trims
Woven main labels, custom care and size tags, hem flags, embroidered badges and your own packaging, all handled in house.
Printing and embroidery on heavy knits
Heavier fleece needs a different approach from a 180 GSM tee. We match method to fabric, not the other way round.
Embroidery
The safest option on brushed fleece: a chest logo, sleeve mark or large back piece sits above the pile instead of sinking into it. See embroidery.

Raised inks that carry across a textured surface and give a graphic real presence on a heavyweight crewneck.
Screen printing

Appliqué and patches
Cut-and-sew panels, twill appliqué and woven or chenille patches for collegiate and heritage looks.
Garment dye and wash
Pigment dye, enzyme and stone washes for a lived-in surface, applied after stitching so seams and rib fade together.
Sweatshirts sell hardest alongside matching bottoms. If you are building a set, look at joggers and co-ord sets, where we cut both pieces from one dye lot. Brands running a full fleece programme usually pair the crewneck with a hoodie in the same fabric.

280–320 GSM French terry is the year-round middle ground and the easiest to sell into mixed climates. 340–400 GSM fleece is the heavyweight option for winter drops and for brands selling on weight and hand-feel.

Yes, and it is worth insisting on. We cut both pieces from the same dye lot so the two match under the same light. Ordering the pieces months apart, from separate lots, is how sets end up slightly off.
Not if the rib is specified properly. We knit rib with elastane for recovery, tape the back neck shoulder to shoulder and wash-test the sample before bulk is cut.
Samples take 12–18 days depending on how much fit development is needed. Bulk runs 30–45 days after you approve the sample, with washes and garment dye at the longer end.
